Audio editing is the process done before, during and after the recording phase. This is when an audio engineer uses various tools to layout each individual track and removes all unwanted sounds etc. Mixing is the extension of the editing process this sometimes takes place during the recording phase but mainly takes place after the editing phase. This is when an audio engineer adds shine to a record and makes sure it sounds like one full recording. Audio engineer’s need to complete the editing phase in order for the mixing phase to be done.
